Geocortex Analytics System Requirements

Hardware Requirements

Hub Server Requirements

The tables below list the minimum and preferred hardware requirements for computers running Geocortex Analytics.

If you have servers with only the minimum requirements set out in the table, you may find that the performance of Analytics is negatively affected. Minimum requirements tend to work for report searches that involve one month or less of data. If you want to search and display data for time periods of more than one month, you are likely to need to install the recommended specifications or Analytics may not perform as expected.

Operating System / Web Server Requirements

Use one of the Windows versions listed in the table. The Hub server needs an Internet Information Services (IIS) web server. Use one of the IIS versions listed. (See note below.)

Analytics can only be installed within the default IIS website. If you install Analytics within a different website, or if the default website is disabled, Analytics does not open.
Ensure that the IIS default website is enabled and has bindings for:
- HTTP on Port 80.
- HTTPS on Port 443.
Other ports are not supported.
Analytics does not support an IIS Site Binding with the fully qualified domain name set. It is important to leave the Host Name on the Site Binding empty.

Software Requirements

.NET Framework Requirements

Geocortex Analytics requires .NET Framework 4.7.2 or newer.

You must download and install the .NET Framework before you can install Analytics. You can download the .NET Framework from the Microsoft .NET Downloads page.

ASP.NET Requirements

ASP.NET is required on the Hub server if you want to log in to Analytics using ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS. Even if you have .NET installed on the Hub server, ArcGIS Identity sign-in will not work. The ASP.NET version should be the same as the .NET Framework version installed.

In addition, IIS Web Server must be configured to have ASP.NET as a role, otherwise users get an HTTP 404 Error when they try to login.

ASP.NET is automatically installed and configured with IIS during a Hub installation of Geocortex Analytics. If you have IIS installed, ASP.NET is also configured with IIS automatically during installation.

For information about using ASP.NET with Windows Server 2012, see ASP.NET.

Geocortex Essentials and Geocortex Viewer Support

The following are the minimum required versions of the Geocortex Essentials and viewer frameworks to use with Geocortex Analytics:

WebOffice Support

Geocortex Analytics supports WebOffice 10.6 R2 or greater.

ArcGIS Server Support

Geocortex Analytics works with:

We do not recommend that you install Analytics on the ArcGIS Server but suggest you access it remotely instead. See Add a Remote ArcGIS Server in the Configure Analytics section of the Administrator help.

Vector tile data is not included in Analytics reports.

Esri JavaScript Apps

Analytics supports internally hosted Esri JavaScript Apps:

Analytics supports Esri JavaScript API 3.x and 4.x

For a list of app types that Analytics supports, see Supported Web Apps in the Administrator Help.

Portal for ArcGIS / ArcGIS Online Support

You need an ArcGIS Identity to sign in to Analytics. You can use any of the following ArcGIS options as an identity provider:

For information on how to set up an ArcGIS Identity or Portal for ArcGIS Login, see Set up an ArcGIS Identity or Portal for ArcGIS Login.

For information on how to add an application in Portal for ArcGIS, see Add and Register an Application in Portal for ArcGIS in the Administrator Help.

Analytics works with the following versions of Portal for ArcGIS:

Analytics collects data from Portal for ArcGIS 10.2.x but it cannot be used for sign-in.

Supported Databases

Geocortex Analytics can monitor a variety of databases with ODBC (Open Database Connectivity) or OLE DB (Object Linking & Embedding Database) drivers installed on the Analytics Hub server. Supported databases include:

Other database types may also work but are untested.

To monitor a database, Analytics requires a user with read-only access.

To use ODBC, you must use the 64 bit version of the driver and database; the 32 bit version is not supported. You must also use ODBC Data Sources (64 bit) to set up an appropriate DSN (Data Source Name).

Supported Browsers

The Geocortex Analytics application runs in a web browser. The following browsers have been tested with Analytics:

Cookie Requirements

Geocortex Analytics does not use cookies.

Supported Security Methods

ArcGIS Identity

You require an ArcGIS Identity to sign in to Analytics. For more information on setting up an ArcGIS Identity, see Set up an ArcGIS Identity or Portal for ArcGIS Login.

Security Measures

Analytics supports collecting from the following methods used to secure different resources.

Analytics does not support:

Geospatial Data

Analytics does not monitor Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC), Web Map Service (WMS) and Web Map Tile Service (WMTS) spatial data even if they are hosted on ArcGIS Server.
