The GeoEvent section is written for Developers and Administrators who are able to customize the application using advanced features. The section also assumes that you are familiar with GeoEvent and how to use it to create GeoEvent Inputs, Outputs, Connectors, and Services.
Configure External Events from GeoEvent
After you have installed GeoEvent for each external data source, you need to do the following:
In GeoEvent, configure connections to all the real-world data sources InputConnectors.
In GeoEvent Services, configure the services to process and evaluate incoming data. For example, configure GeoEvent to take actions based on the following:
CAD dispatch codes.
Earthquake magnitude.
Weather alerts.
Stream gauge levels.
In GeoEvent, configure Output Connectors to take external actions based on evaluated data. For example:
Send e-mail.
Send SMS messages.
Write to an Esri stream service for use in your application.
Write vehicle or responder location data to a time-aware Esri feature service for use in your application.
Send events to Geocortex Active Operating Picture collaboration channels.
Stream services are the easiest way to view high-volume, real-time data inside your AOP application. The only drawback to using a stream service is that, by default, you will have no ability to play it back. However, you can configure GeoEvent to archive its data to a time-aware feature service which can then be used during after-action playback.
