Data Security on Windows

The Geocortex Mobile App Framework does not encrypt user data on the device. Other apps on the device could potentially read the Geocortex Mobile App Framework for Windows data. We recommend that users only install apps from trusted software vendors, and use updated antivirus software.

We strongly recommend that users use a password to secure the device. However, a determined individual could still be able to circumvent the security of an unencrypted device, particularly if they have physical access to it.

The Geocortex Mobile App Framework for Windows stores data in the following folder:

C:\Users\MyUserName\Documents\Geocortex App Data

If a Windows 10 device is lost or stolen, the user may be able to use the Microsoft website to locate it, provided the Find My Device feature is enabled.
