The Print Layout Explorer shows the elements that comprise a print layout.
The structure of the print layout is divided into the following parts:
▪Print Layout: Displays the bands and controls of a print layout in a tree hierarchy.
You can use Print Layout Explorer to configure the front-to-back order that controls are rendered. This is useful if the layout has overlapping controls. Controls that are higher in the list will draw over those lower in the list. To change the drawing order, drag a control to a different location in the list.
You can open the properties of an item by selecting an item in the explorer and clicking the Edit
button. For complex items like the Table Control or Panel Control , it may be easier to select the item in the Print Layout Explorer rather than in the Layout.
▪Styles: Displays a list of styles configured in the print layout.
To add a new style, click
. Expand the Styles heading to show the new style, and then click Edit
to configure the properties of the new style. For more information see Styles.
▪Cross-Band Controls: Lists those cross band controls that have been added to the print layout, such as the Cross-Band Box Control or the Cross-Band Line Control .
▪Components: Displays any data sources added to the report. Click Edit
to modify the name of the data source.
