In Designer, it is possible to download a zip file containing the configuration and layout files of the app currently open, as long as the app has been saved at least once. It is also possible to download these files for the various deployment stages of an app (namely, Testing, Staging, and Production). The ability to download the app is useful for backing up, or as a precaution when making changes that you are not sure you want to keep.
When downloading the files of an app in the Development stage, the files include all unsaved changes.
Downloading an app includes all resource files of the app, such as uploaded images and custom code libraries.
