CrossLink enables users to transfer the context of a selected object from one application to another. By selecting a feature, record, or object in a source application, users can launch an action in a target application that locates the corresponding object based on a configured key value.
CrossLink integrations can operate between applications running on the same computer or across different computers.
CrossLink supports communication between desktop, web, and other applications, enabling object-oriented workflows that span multiple systems.
When an object is selected in the source application:
1.CrossLink reads the configured key value from the selected object.
2.The value is sent to the target application.
3.The target application searches for a matching object.
4.The configured target action is executed.
Depending on the target application's capabilities, transferred objects can be:
•selected
•zoomed to
•opened in a detail view
•updated with new attribute values
•used to create new geometries
For example, a user can select a parcel in Studio Desktop and open the corresponding record in a web application, zoom to the matching feature in another GIS project, or display an associated asset in VertiGIS FM.
