The Exit activity immediately ends the workflow. A workflow normally exits when there are no more activities to run. The Exit activity provides a convenient way for the workflow author to explicitly declare that the workflow should end at a given point. In many cases this can make workflows easier to understand and avoid additional logic to bring a workflow to an end.
A workflow can contain nested subworkflows. At a given point in a subworkflow it may be appropriate to end the workflow. The Exit activity provides an easy way to accomplish this. The alternative is to ensure that when the subworkflow completes the parent workflow also knows that it should end as well. The deeper the nesting of subworkflows the more complex this can be.
