Monitors allow you to track the current value of a specific resource metric. By creating monitors, you can track important metrics specific to your environment. Alarms can then be added to a monitor to trigger at certain thresholds, bringing attention to issues or potential issues, which you can then act on. Or you can configure Actions that will perform automated tasks when an alarm transitions state.
Monitors can be configured as a category default monitor, allowing you to bulk manage common monitors for an entire resource group, or on individual resources. Alarms are then configured on a monitor, these can be category default monitors or individual resource monitors. You can also override the alarms on the monitors of an individual resource that exist because they are inherited from the category default monitors.
Monitors and alarms can be configured in Settings and monitors can be added by Admins in Reports via specific report panels. The information produced by monitors and alarms can then be viewed in Reports.
