The high-level steps to install Active Operating Picture Extension for Geocortex Essentials (AOP) include:
Extract the Active Operating Picture ZIP files, which extract two separate zip files.
Copy the contents of the two zip files into folders where they are recognized and integrated.
In the case of the AOPInstaller.zip, copying the folders integrates the AOP application with one instance of Essentials. If you are running multiple instances of Essentials, you must repeat this process for each instance of Essentials that you want to integrate with AOP.
In the case of the AOPCoreRole.zip file, you have the option to install it now or later. You only need to install the AOP Core Role if you plan to use GeoEvent or other services to send data to AOP.
Install the client-side AOP viewer.
To install Geocortex Essentials, Geocortex Core and Geocortex Viewer for HTML5:
If it is not already installed, install Geocortex Essentials on the same machine that you plan to install AOP.
Installing Geocortex Essentials also installs Geocortex Core if it is not already installed.
For installation instructions, see the Installation Guide in the Geocortex Essentials documentation.
If it is not already installed, install the Geocortex Viewer for HTML5 using the Post-Installation Configuration wizard.
For installation instructions, see the Geocortex Viewer for HTML5 Installation Guide.
To stop Geocortex Core from running while you install AOP, click Windows Start, type services.msc, and then press Enter.
If the Status of the service named Geocortex Core is Running, right-click it, and then click Stop.
If you are unable to stop the service, press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to launch Windows Task Manager.
On the Services tab, right-click the Geocortex Core process, and then click Stop.
To install the AOP extension files:
Download the Active Operating Picture Extension for Geocortex Essentials 2.0.zip
distribution file from the Support Center and extract the contents to a temporary folder.
The distribution file contains the following:
AOPInstaller.zip: Contains everything you need to run AOP.
AOPCoreRole.zip: Contains the AOP Core Role, which is only required if you plan to use GeoEvent and other services to connect to AOP.
In the temp folder, extract the AOPInstaller.zip file.
Drag the Manager and Sites folders to C:\Program Files (x86)\Latitude Geographics\Geocortex Essentials\Default\REST Elements\.
When the Windows box opens, click Continue to indicate it is OK to proceed.
You may have to click multiple times.
The AOP files are added to existing Manager and Sites folder structures. No files are overwritten.
You have now integrated Active Operating Picture with a particular instance of Essentials.
If you have multiple instances of Essentials installed, repeat this step for each Essentials instance that you want to integrate with AOP.
To use AOP, you must first configure it. For more information, see AOP Initial Configuration .
Install the AOP Core Role only if you plan to use services to send data to AOP. Otherwise you can leave this section of the installation out.
To install the AOP Core Role:
In the temp folder where you extracted the AOPInstaller.zip, extract the AOPCoreRole.zip file.
Drag the extracted AOP folder that contains the AOP Role and move it to
.
C:\Program Files\Latitude Geographics\Geocortex Core\NSRoot\Geocortex\
You need to restart the Core Service, because during the start up process, Geocortex Core recognizes and integrates the new role.
To re-start the Geocortex Core service, press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to launch Windows Task Manager, and then on the Services tab, right-click the Geocortex Core process and click Restart.
When it restarts, Geocortex Core automatically loads and integrates the AOP Role.
To use the AOP Role, you must first configure it. For more information, see Configure the AOP Role.
