When you create layouts in Studio Desktop Printing, avoid opening and saving those layouts in Studio Printing Designer. Not all layout properties can be preserved when layouts are converted between the Printing Designer and the ArcGIS Pro layout formats.

Creating layouts with Studio Desktop Printing is ideal if you use more complex layout elements than what is offered in ArcGIS Pro.

You can create layouts or layout packages directly in Desktop Printing using ArcGIS Pro layout tools or Esri layout layouts. Then, share your layouts or layout packages as portal items in ArcGIS Pro or ArcGIS Online.

This requires a Studio Desktop license and ArcGIS Pro license.
