The color and symbology settings you configure in the Draw service are the default settings/presets for the set of markup graphic tools in the Toolbar.
Markup graphics include Draw, Buffer, Identify, Find Coordinates on the Map, Import Markup from CSV, Import Markup from Shapefile, Import Markup from XLSX, Measure, Measure Here. See Standard Commands for more information.
You can specify the default color that is used when creating markup graphics with the Drawing tools. And you can create symbol presets for your user, which is an efficient way to ensure consistency.
You have the option to decide if your user can override these default settings or if you want them to only use the presets.

Color |
Select a color for the Draw tool. This is the default color used when creating markup graphics. To select a color, click the color picker to select a color from the palette, using the sliders to adjust the hue and opacity, or the predefined color swatches at the bottom. Alternatively, there are two ways in which you can manually specify a color: •Hex (Hexadecimal): Type a hexadecimal value for the color. The first pair of characters represent the amount of red, the second pair the amount of green, and the third pair the amount of blue. Each character must be between 0 and F. You cannot specify the opacity in the hexadecimal value, however, you can use the opacity slider or the Alpha value in the RGBA value. For more information, see Web colors. •RGBA (Red, Green, Blue, Alpha): Type an RGBA value for the color, which consists of four numbers. The first three numbers represent the amount of red, green and blue, respectively, and each value must be an integer between 0 and 255. The final number represents the color's opacity and must be an integer between 0 (fully transparent) and 100 (fully opaque). |
Symbol Presets |
A set of predefined symbols that can be applied or selected within the application. Click Add Symbol Preset to specify a geometry type and formatting to represent a specific feature. For example, you could create a Highway symbol preset so all highways are indicated by a red, solid line. |
Show Only Symbol Presets |
When enabled, fine-grain symbology settings will be hidden and only symbol presets will be displayed for symbol configuration. If no valid symbol presets are available for a particular geometry type, this property will be ignored. |
